composer page (missing the obvious)

Post by abbeyterry »

Greetings, all. A first time contributor here. I've looked at the guides, uploaded my first file, but I'm just not seeing how to link the file to the (supposedly automated?) composer page (who is not me, but my boss's late mentor, putting up his works at his wife's request). Can you help me see what I am missing?
Thanks,
AT

Thanks for your contribution.
I've cut the informations you've put on a PDF file page and pasted them, creating the composer page:
http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Stewart_Alan_Hughes
Please ascertain the fact that you own the copyright for this modern composer.
Then you will be able to create a first work page clicking on "Add new work" on top right of that composer page.

Thanks-- I'm setting the manuscripts and posting at his wife's request. As his heir, she owns the copyright. For the text, I contacted GIA to confirm the text is not original to them (or Joncas' use of it) and they consider it in the public domain.

Ok, I clicked on Add new work on the composer page, and uploaded the pdf file. But it doesnt show up on the page as attached-- nothing is there. When I add the mscz and mxl versions, how will I attach them?

When you click on 'Add new work', the AddWork form is shown.
You fill it: title of work, lyricist, etc
AND, in the same time, on the 'Music notation file' line, click on 'Upload a file'. It opens a new tab in your web browser.
You'll browse your hard disk to pick your music notation file (only one, better the MXL than the MSCZ one: more users can use it).
Then return to the AddWork form tab, continue to fill it.
Then, don't forget to click on the 'Add work data' at the bottom.

Hi. I have followed these instructions now three times only to have you delete this work each time. I now believe you must not actually want people adding new materials to this site, or it would not be so labyrinthine. During the last attempt, I tried to upload the mxl version in the place allotted for it only to get a page full of errors. I am doing this for my workplace. PLEASE add the file to this page so that I can move on with my task list. PLEASE.

Hi, the MXL (compressed MusicXML) file was not present. How did you produce and linked it?
I made another one and linked it.
I've also added the underlay text in the accurate section.
Please, add it yourself, next time, replacing {{NoText}} by
a link to the existing text page, like {{LinkText|Ave Maria}}
or
{{Text|Language|
Line 1,
line 2,
etc.}}
if there is no already existing text page.
Nothing has been removed.
Now the page is complete at http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Mary ... an_Hughes)
