Possibility of uploading music xml files

Post by Saniakob »

Hello
I wonder if there is any chance in the future to upload music xml files...
Xml format is getting popular and is being implemented by most known music editing softwares. I think it would be helpful for many users. The main and obvious advantage is to open one file with different applications, avoiding the inconvenience of not having the proper software to open a score... Just to name the most used applications:
  • Finale - imports/exports
  • Sibelius imports and with the purchase of a dolet it can also export
  • Encore imports/exports (since version 5)
Thank you! :P

You can upload MusicXML files, but please zip them because MusicXML is a very verbose format.

XML files were allowed until very recently, but some of the files uploaded were comparatively huge (one had more than 1MB) in relation to other music formats (as MIDI, LilyPond etc.). This same file, when zipped, had its size reduced to a few KBs, and because of that zipping is now a requirement for XML files.
