There have been several comments on talk pages and in emails about vertical misalignment of columns of text, when using templates Text or Translation. You can see examples on any page that uses these templates in multiple columns, using the templates Top, Middle, and Bottom. (The templates Mdl and Btm redirect to Middle and Bottom.) (Changes are to make Valign="Baseline" in both Top and Middle)
I discovered a solution that correctly aligns the columns vertically, through test templates Top2 and Middle2. I hope you can see the difference in the following screenshot. Measurements are on my screen only, probably not yours. (Or see my test here)
Notice that when text only in the columns, there is no misalignment.
But the new templates Top and Middle cause 0.5 mm more vertical space from the header line either with Text templates or with just text.
Template Bottom does not need to be changed.
Would this be helpful?

Re: Vertical alignment columns of text
Templates {{Top}} and {{Middle}} have been changed. I also changed {{Translation}} because the flag was within the <big> tags, making its column taller.

Thanks for amending this irritating behaviour.
