International Orange Chorale concert

Saturday, November 20, 7:30 P.M.
St. Mark's Lutheran Church, San Francisco

Informal performance Friday November 19, 5pm
55 Second Street, Solarium (in Lobby), San Francisco

(Both performances are free with donation optional.)

The program includes the first ever complete a cappella performance of
Milton Babbitt's Music for the Mass, which had previously premiered at
Princeton but had to have strings accompanying the choir in the more
difficult movements. This performance will premiere the composition, 70
years after it was written, as the composer intended. This composition
is less atonal and more accessible than Babbitt's later works.

IOC will round out the program of 20th and 21st century music with
works by Irving Fine, Robert Moran, Morten Lauridsen, and Craig Hella
Johnson and three world premieres of works by local composers
commissioned by IOC.
