I have made minor corrections to the PDFs of the Beethoven 9th score by Marmol and Casaus found here:
http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Symp ... ethoven%29
I wish to offer these as an improved version of their files, claiming no copyright or credit. I think it should not look like a separate new score, and should be easily found from their page. What's the best way to do that?
Submitting minor rev of someone else's score
Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score
In my opinion, if you have made just obvious corrections (wrong notes, lengths, typos in text etc.) then we should replace their files with yours and add a note at the "Edition notes" section in the line: "revised on Dec 2015 by dada_lope, such and such things corrected."
On the other hand, if you have made substantial editorial changes to their edition, then you should submit yours as a new edition, specifying at the "Edition notes" section that it was "based on CPDL# 99999 with such and such changes."
Regards,

The first case is appropriate. Their scores mention incorrect measure numbers, which is primarily what I fixed. I spread the measure numbers to each staff of each page, and added rehearsal letters based on an old score (Ed. Reinecke, pub. Breitkopf, 1895, http://imslp.org/wiki/Special:ImagefromIndex/51456). I recall editing the text underlay in one or two places. I made no changes that rise above the level of typesetting.

Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score
I would suggest contacting the original editor before changing the linked file, or else adding a "based on" edition. I posted a reformatting under the original editor's name at http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/St_M ... _di_Lasso) but this was a case where nothing but layout was changed. Looking now, I'm no longer convinced the A4 paper size label on the original is correct!
Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score
I just uploaded 4 files and submitted an Add Works form for it. Apparently the CPDL number of that submission is 37915. I have saved the response data.
I may have done it wrong, because I don't see any sign that the first 3 files were included in the submission. I can provide the upload links for those files if needed. Otherwise I think the Add Work submission is moot, because I don't feel any ownership of these files. I leave it to the CPDL admins to judge whether this counts as a new submission or a trivial (but useful) correction of someone else's earlier submission. My opinion is the latter.
I think I was required to select a copyright option, but I disavow any copyright of my own to these files, and defer to the creators of the original files, Marmol and Casaus. http://www0.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Sym ... ethoven%29

Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score
Hi. Could you please upload your corrections as a single file? I have merged Paco Marmol and Manolo Casaus edition into a single file, too, because there was no strong reason to keep it separated into 5 PDFs. Thank you!
Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score
Please see my new submission CPDL # 37923 and the file http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/6/69/Be ... _piano.pdf
Sorry I didn't read your PM until after the new submission.
This is a single PDF file containing all 5 of the original files, with the measure numbers corrected and rehearsal letters added. (I did only the measure numbers in the first file.)
Thanks for your help.

The link for this new revision seems to be broken. Could you re-post? And do you by chance have an edition showing the choir parts only (without the accompaniment/reduction)? thanks! Paul Ayres

Previous file has been removed in 2016 but a corresponding new one (File:Beethoven_9th_vocal_piano3.pdf) uploaded. See the work page:
