Where is the "Report Error" button?

Post by D-fished »

Hello,

I remember seeing, in the past, a button or link called 'Report Score Error' or something similar that allowed users to identify errors etc. that they found in the scores. I even used it once, myself.

I can't find it anymore. Am I missing something, or is it gone?

It's not a button, but rather there is a Template:ScoreError which one uses as an addendum to the Edition notes section of the edition in question. If the error you wish to report is very short, you may simply add to the "Edition notes:" section something like:

{{ScoreError|the B-flat in the tenor part in measure 13 should be an A-flat. ~~~~ }}

If there is a longer list of errors or if it is not easy to describe the error(s), then type ionstead:

{{ScoreError}}

Save this edit and add your Error report to the Discussion (Talk) page of the work, using as a heading something like

=== Error report for CPDL no. 12345 ===

Make sure you sign your error report by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ).

I don't remember having to do this when I reported an error before, but thanks for clarification.

I'm not sure how to report an error either. I don't know how to find the "Addendum to the Edition Notes."
The piece "O now weep, now sing" by Thomas Weelkes has a defective PDF.

Thanks,

Thanks for pointing this, it has been corrected. The defective file was in fact a midi file with wrong extension.

Thanks for fixing my previous error report. I'm still not sure how to report an error other than here in the forum, but I found another error: #26241 has a defective PDF that won't open.
Thanks,

I've just contacted the editor who posted it about this problem. I'll get you informed as soon as he corrects it.

Hi Bruce, Mr James Gibb uploaded a new PDF of his edition that is fully functional. He suggested that next time you contact him directly.

Just a tip: most editors leave contact information (e-mail or website) on their user pages. To get there, just click on their names when on a work's page.
