Editor v Composer

Post by Marghek »

G'day,

I am trying to add myself as a composer. I sort of did, but my name is my surname only. Upon trying to do it with both ('Alan Knight') the search finds me as an editor and therefore won't let me add the composer page nor move the 'Knight' composer page to 'Alan Knight' because it exists.

How do I sort this out, please? I have a score to submit when I've got over this hurdle. I also need to edit the scores (by Merritt) I have submitted and to add some more Merritt ones.

Help with composer page

Post by johnhenryfowler »

I'll be happy to help, Alan.

Lets see if I can find your composer page in the "Recent Changes"
and give it the proper format for starters.

I'll post back here when I am done.

I deleted the redirect that was on the "Alan_Knight" page, and pasted
in the content from the "Knight" page. I will now see if I can find the
uploaded scores in the "Recent Changes" add them to the Alan_Knight
composer page.

I'll post back here when I am done.

I went searching for uploaded files by user "Marghek" back to Feb 2nd
and could find no uploaded files. I'll need the pointers to the uploaded files
to add them to the "Alan_Knight" composer page. You will need to
upload them again for me to assist you. Post here when you have done this.

John Henry,

I didn't get as far as posting any of my own compositions. I was trying to register myself as a composer first. I'll go through the score posting sequence now that you have set me up with both names, but probably not until next weekend due to the day job! Sorry you spent time looking for non-existent scores.

Thanks very much for sorting me out. Can the unadorned 'Knight' composer be removed?

Help with posting

Hi Alan,

I'll mark the "Knight" page for deletion.
Next weekend I'll look for your uploaded files.

Hi John Henry,

I think I uploaded a 52kb pdf as http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/0/00/Knig-res.pdf.

Seems my composer registration has disappeared, but maybe just hidden until there's something to put on that page? Can you handle from here, or do you need something more from me?

PS. I saw a bobnotts message about a Responses sub-genre (which would be appropriate) but I couldn't find that in the drop-down. AK

Very many thanks, John Henry.

Re Username: I'll stick with 'marghek' because my next piece is another set of responses written for the Cornish Prayer Book (Lyver Pysadow). 'Marghek' is Cornish for Knight.

I may also contribute a Mag and Nunc setting, again with Cornish words. More curiousity than practicality, maybe, but some people might be interested.

I'll attempt to put the next piece up myself - after 40 years in computers and suchlike, I should be able to do that - but thanks again for sorting this out for me.
