Unreadable .mus formats

Post by EmqU »

Hi all,

I tried to read the 'Sibelius 2' file of the Mass in E-moll from Rheinberger, but looking at the extension of the file, it says .mus, which is, as far as I know, a Finale extension, and the one my Sibelius programm cannot convert. The converting with Sibelius thusfar only worked with the Finale files with an .e?f extension (Enigma ... format).
So two questions:
1. Has the file a wrong name?
2. Is it possible to make alle the Finale contributions in the .e?f format?

Greetings,

The links relevant to this work located within the composer's page are pointing to .sib files, and apparently they can be downloaded properly. I don't use Sibelius, so I cannot check that they open correctly. Instead, the links within the work page point to some .mus files that are unavailable at the moment.

So, I would suggest to try using the .sib files from the composer's page.

.mus is usually a Finale extension, however Melody Assistant and Harmony Assistant use .mus as well (together with .myr). Sometimes, .mus files do not open within Finale because they are Melody Assistant or Harmony Assistant files instead.

Regards.

Repairs made to files for Rhienberger's Mass in E-flat Major

Post by johnhenryfowler »

Hi eMu and Choralia,

I don't know why the sourec files ended up with .mus extensions. I did
the score in Sibelius2. I've updated the files, fixed the naming error,
and the "Dominus" error in the Sanctus movement and made the update
to the "Works" page.

Please let me know if you find any errors and I will fix the files.
