watchlist?

I'm wondering if it's possible to create a watchlist based on criteria rather than by selecting pre-existing pages to be watched. For example, I might want to be notified about all activity (including new submissions) for the composer Guillaume de Machaut. Is there a way to set up this kind of watchlist functionality?
