Re: Aleotti sisters

That's fine! I agree that that's the best approach for now. The difference in style seems to be striking, indeed.

Re: Aleotti sisters

Oh well, things are not so simple as they seem: the German Wikipedia article counter arguments saying that Raffaella was the name Vittoria took when she entered the monastery at fourteen. They probably based their article on the Grove's entry on Vittoria, that reads: "(b Ferrara, c1575; d after...

Re: Aleotti sisters

The English Wikipedia article gives enough arguments in favor of the thesis that they were two different people. I'd suggest creating a new page for Raffaella (please note the spelling used by Grove, we should stick to it). It's always easier to eventually merge the two pages than to split a single ...

Oh, I see. So that's what you meant by "arrangement". Sorry for not being able to help with this.

Re: Victoria: Domine, Non Sum Dignus

Hello Alfredo, Charles Shunk was one of the first contributors to CPDL, submitting his first editions around 17 years ago. But he never created an account on the new wiki platform, and therefore cannot be contacted by leaving a message on his talk page there. If you look at the page of this work, yo...

Re: automation: SortWorks & NoWorks

Could Born: and Died: templates also replace [[Category:unknown Births &c? Hi Richard. Regarding your suggestion above, I was thinking of a broader solution: a Biographic template that would encompass all personal data and make the proper categorizations. In fact such template already exists, i...

Re: Replacing erroneously posted file

Hello Malcolm, welcome to CPDL! It has not been your fault; one of the admins noticed the broken link and changed it to link to the only file you had uploaded so far. I have undone his action. So now, please go again to the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis page, click on the red link Childrey Service ma...

Re: HOW? Listing by Surname/Firstname AND adding a composer to the 'Female Composers' list

Hi Edewede!

Sorry, I gave you the wrong information: the correct category to be added is [[Category:Women composers]], as you have already figured out.

Once again, welcome to CPDL and thanks for sharing your music with us.

Re: HOW? Listing by Surname/Firstname AND adding a composer to the 'Female Composers' list

Hi Dhaivid, First of all, could you please let us know what is your composer name at CPDL? 1. CPDL follows the GivenName(s) Surname convention in page titles, lists and categories, but they are always sorted by surname, not by given name. So, what you described is the expected behaviour. 2. Just edi...

Re: Increasing universal access to CPDL via MusicXML

I think next step should be converting the PDF-and-MP3-and-Sibelius (or Finale) editions, because MP3 isn't an interchange format. What do you think? Hi Claude, the increasing number of editions with MusicXML source is a good news! Regarding the MP3 files, I guess that editors upload them in order ...

Hi Andrew, David Fraser hasn't been very active lately, he may not read your request here on the forums. You can try to leave him a message on his CPDL user page (even though he hasn't replied to the latest requests left there, either): http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/User_talk:David_Fraser I str...

Re: I've been sorted, now unsure how to add...

Hi Maggie, Please don't use the old Add Work system anymore, it's being deprecated; there's a new option that automates the whole process, you won't have to copy and paste anything. Just look for the "Add new work" tab at the top of your composer page and start from there. Try it and let u...

Re: Dido and Aeneas, Fowler edition

Hello David, that's fantastic! Thank you so much for offering to produce a new, revised set of scores. When you're done, please submit it as a new edition, as you suggest. We recommend overwriting files by other editors only when changes are minimal; that's not the case here. But I agree that it's f...

Re: Messe des morts in D minor H7, Charpentier

Hi Kathy, On the Messe page, if you click on Vincent's name, you'll be taken to his user page, where you have two options to contact him: 1) Leave him a message by clicking on the upper tab "Discussion" and then selecting the "Add topic" tab; 2) Send an email to the email account...
