Re: Pieces I'm entranced by at the moment...
A nice score! I just realized there are no Magalhaes scores on CPDL: http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Filipe_Magalh%C3%A3es Would it be possible to get the Commissa Mea or other works contributed it to CPDL? I've sung Commissa Mea, and also Asperges Me and Vidi Aquam (both SATB, and would love to ...

Re: Brahms - Wie Melodien zieht es mir
Hopefully someone can help out. You might also want to post a request using the Request form, since that puts it where people preparing editions are more likely to check: http://choralwiki.net/wiki/index.php/ChoralWiki:Request_a_Score If you have questions about using the form, feel free to post here.

Thanks! I'm starting to work on some editions on my own and am realizing how much there is to learn.

Re: About Isaac's Innsbruck
What impressed me most is that he remembered it! This is a person who sight-sings through at least 2.5 hours of sheet music every week, most of it stuff he's never seen before. I would not remember that type of detail if I had seen that piece just last week (things really blur together for me given ...

Re: Paper thickness
Interesting tidbit!
I use standard copier paper. We read through so much music at each session! I duplex to save both paper and storage space. Why use twice the drawer space?

Thanks. No need to go to any trouble, but I am curious about the subject generally.

Re: Request for music by Philippe Rogier
John Hetland indicates that this was published by Rogier in 1595 but appears to have been altered in later manuscripts and attributed to Morley. Peter Phillips apparently wrote an article about this. Another reference by the Oxford Camerata says: "Similarly, Thomas Morley's subsequent adaptatio...

Re: Request for music by Philippe Rogier
I am pretty sure I have a copy of the Hetland score of the Rogier/Morley Laboravi in Gemitu, but it looks as though the piece is also on CPDL attributed only to Morley. I've added an update to the score page on CPDL that it's believed to possibly have been composed by Rogier. When I have a chance, I...

Re: Filipe de Magalhães - Commissa Mea Pavesco
I'm a fan of Magalhaes and it's nice to be reminded of this piece (I haven't sung it since 2007 and am feeling neglectful). The version I have is a whole step up and only octivates the 5th line. Out of curiosity, since I don't have a lot of experience editing scores, can you say a bit about how you ...

Re: Works from the issues of Pierre Attaignant
This should be doable with the multicat function Chuck created, if the editor is specified in a field (as opposed to the editor field being used to mean the uploader or person who created that particular edition). Rather than doing it based on editor, can the Collections feature be used instead? For...

Re: Pieces I'm entranced by at the moment...
I'm happy to hear about favorite pieces in general (esp. a cappella), even if they've moved beyond current entrancement to being a favorite for the long term. Thanks for posting! I haven't sung that particular piece by Byrd and will bump it to the top of the stack. Thanks for suggesting the Holst--I...

Pieces I'm entranced by at the moment...
I thought it might be nice to have a topic for fabulous choral pieces we are currently entranced by. At the moment, mine are:
William Mundy's Vox Patris, and Hugh Kellyk's Gaude Flore Virginali, both Renaissance sacred pieces. Do other people similarly have pieces they want to gush about?

Re: Translation by committee
I'd like to see more discussion in the forums about favorite composers, or the nifty choral piece someone just discovered (even if under copyright). to my knowledge, there isn't a place on the net for choir geeks to rave about things they love. I'm familiar with Choralist, but I'm hoping for somethi...
