Hi ml_menendez, I made the translation into Italian. I simply entered into edit mode on CPDL while the page was still in English, then I copied and pasted everything into a text file on my PC. I translated all the parts in English in the text, without touching any formatting information, links, etc....

Jacobus Gallus is present on CPDL with his actual Slovenian name, Jacob Handl. Several partitions are available, but no one named "Musica" or something like that. I googled for a work by Jacobus Gallus or Jacob Handl with this name, and perhaps the complete title is: "Musica noster am...

I have no idea. At times like this, we seem to be impeded not only in knowledge about what has caused these failures but also in there not being a group of administrators (other than just the owner Raf Ornes himself) empowered to take corrective action when such failures occur, to inform CPDL users ...

CPDL is up again. I've just re-activated the automatic monitoring service provided by http://www.siteuptime.com . Admins who asked to receive the alerts should have received a "www.cpdl.org is up" notification, as well as a test alert. Availability statistics are provided at: http://www.si...

It happened yesterday evening, around 22 GMT (I was online at that very time). I don't know the reasons. However, please note that the "emergency site" made when the major crash occurred (http://www.choralwiki.org/) is currently available.

New: "sung" training aids at http://www.choralia.n

I launched today, on my web site devoted to choir training aids ( http://www.choralia.net ), new training aids made using the Virtual Singer (VS) technology. A synthesized voice sings the individual parts, as well as emphasized parts and all parts together, with the actual lyrics, not only with &quo...

It is probably interesting to note that the pronounciation of Latin language may be either "Classical" (i.e., as pronounced by the Romans some 2000 years ago) or "Ecclesiastical" (i.e., as commonly adopted by the Catholic Church). Given the nature of the sacred music works, I thi...

Hi Dave,

The editions I checked are the NMA, the transcription of the original manuscript made by Philip Legge, plus two commercial editions (Peters and Baerenreiter). Apparently, no one of them shows a "staccato" a that specific point.

I checked the editions of the Requiem available to me, and all of them show "exaudi" as a single word (not "ex audi"). From a syntax viewpoint, the word "exaudi" may be regarded as composed by the prefix "ex" and the verb "audi", but I don't think th...

Stadler's version of offertorium from Mozart's Requiem

Can anybody help me to find a score of the Abbè Stadler's version of the offertorium (Domine Jesu) from Mozart's Requiem KV626? It can be a copyrighted edition, not necessarily public domain, I'm ready to order a copy if I just find any publisher. Apparently it's quite hard to find. Thank you in adv...

Mozart's "Lacrimosa" with "Amen" fugue

A choir gave to me some sheet music of an alternative version of the "Lacrimosa" (or "Lacrymosa" - BTW, what's the correct spelling?), to prepare training aids for it. It's rather different from the traditional version by Süssmayr as, after the first 8 measures written by Mozart,...

My free training aids, available at http://www.choralia.net/indexen.htm, might be helpful to learn multiple part harmonies through gradual steps.
