Re: Hello all.

Howdy--looking forward to having you around CPDL. If you feel like volunteering, please let us know. We could use help on a variety of things, from helping edit or create wiki pages to add new score index listings if the user couldn't complete the process when adding a score, to more complex technic...

Re: When exactly is a cpdl edition number needed?

Good issue to ponder. Error correction should supplant the prior edition using the same CPDL number IMO. I defer to others on the more complicated aspects. :)

Re: looking around for scholarship opportunities

For choral composition competitions, you may want to check out http://choralnet.org/list/forum -- I've also seen some posted to regional lists such as the ba-choral list on yahoogroups.com. Please post an update about any useful resources you find...

Re: Using PitchLab guitar tuner for voices

This app has come to semi-affectionately be referred to as the "bitch slap" application by choristers who don't love being told that they're the voice part or singer that's going flat. :)

Funny. The "Ode to the memory of Italian virtuosi" is especially upbeat. I'll pass the suggestions along, thanks!

Re: upbeat easy a cappella rep suggestions?

We're singing at an airport Passers-by would probably not think it inappropriate for us to sing about drinking, though Quick We Have But a Second may hit even closer.

Thanks for the suggestions--I'll pass them along.

upbeat easy a cappella rep suggestions?

Can folks suggest pieces for an informal performance our ensemble is singing? We're looking for: * upbeat (Alice Parker's arrangement of Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal is a good example); * a cappella * SATB (divisi workable, esp. in treble, but 4-part is best) * easy (we have very limited rehearsal ...

Re: Link from CPDL to a composer database

Hi, Tony-- For the page Carlos created, please go ahead and (optional) edit it to update the Manager information using whatever contact information you wish to appear. You can add your name and, if you wish, a link to contacting you or else an e-mail address (I suggest obfuscating it to make the add...

Re: Trad_Title_(Traditional) vs. Trad_Title_(Arranger)

Welcome--thanks for contributing, and raising a good question too. Here are my preliminary thoughts, but I think it's worth waiting to give others time for their input. A Work page for a score can have editions with different voicings. This can be indicated by including the categories for the two or...

Re: Si bona suscepimus - de Rore

I've tagged the works page ( http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Si_bona_suscepimus_%28Cipriano_de_Rore%29 ) for clean-up, with a pointer to the discussion here and set myself a remind in a couple of weeks. It sounds as though the page listing should be moved under Porta to match the score itself and...

Using PitchLab guitar tuner for voices

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1umvRRm5Eg4 The viewing option shown at around 0:30 is very useful for seeing one or multiple voices simultaneously to check on and identify the source of tuning issues. (I have no affiliation with whomever makes this app; it's just fascinating). https://play.google.c...

Very gracious of Eric! Wasn't Lauridsen doing that sort of suspensiony thing when Eric was just a teen at music camp? One difference I think I've noticed is that each part in Eric's pieces tends to a more interesting line.
