Re: Choir Audition Pieces for Male Tenor

Assume this choir is will be performing religious works, the following are beautiful short pieces, but can be taxing for breath control and pronunciation. I'm sure there are plenty of other options like, Nessun dorma. Panis Angelicus - César Franck If With All Your Heart - Felix Mendelssohn's "...

Re: 3-part sacred anthems

Stainer's How Beautiful upon the Mountains available in cpdl, is a simple arrangement that can be sung with men singing bass, even though the arrangement is for ATB.

Re: Hodie Christus natus est (Palestrina)

Many thanks Chuck, my understanding is, if minim remains constant, the value of semi-breve should not change (time signature can be 6/2 or cadenza, but it should not be 3/1 ) and can't feel hemiola from midi file.

Thanks.

Re: Hodie Christus natus est (Palestrina)

Need clarity on interpretation. In Brian Marble's SATB score, The time changes from 3/2 to 3/1 at three bars 8, 19 & 63. While singing these bars, should we change the note value as written(semi-breve becomes 1 beat, minim half and so on) or simply continue as 3/2.

Thanks.

Re: are these in public domain ?.

Many thanks Eric, the trouble is, If I share the score in here the publisher might respond and CPDL could be in trouble. On the other hand, those who want to purchase the score would have no option to buy it from a lousy publisher who don't respond. :x

Re: are these in public domain ?.

1, Many thanks, I couldn't find it on Theodore's website, seems out of print or Dr. Bird made it PD or free to perform. And an exact keyword matching search returns less than 5 results, last updated 2002, very strange.

2, I think the Bovee version is much easier to sing.
