Mozart Vesperea solennes do confessore - laudate pueri

Post by teilanikirk »

How many themes are there in this piece? I'm guessing 113 because it is from Psalm 113, any one know the answer to this?

I should say your guess was about 112 too many. The setting is a very close-worked single-subject fugue. You might want to count the countersubject as a separate theme, as you might the brief homophonic interlude at Et humilia respicit. It seems like a rather unusual query, if you don't mind my saying so.
