Hello everybody,
I'm looking for works sung in different languages simultaneously,
(ex.: latin-french (Ockeghem), Italian-Dutch (Adriaenssen) etc...)
thanks for your help,
multilingual compositions
Re: multilingual compositions
At CPDL, such works in more than one language are classfied as having Macaronic texts. At present there are over 50 such works in this category.
Also at CPDL, such works with more than one text (usually in parallel, but not necessarily in different languages) are categorized as Polytextual music. At present there are seven such works at CPDL that have been added to that category (there may be more, since the recognition/categorizing of such works has only recently begun). Composers represented include: Dufay, Isaac, Obrecht, Othmayr, Pipelare, Senfl.
