SATB and/or SSA swing or 50's music

I couldn't find any on CPDL. Where can I find well known pieces? Did I navigate this site wrong, or will I have a hard time finding something without paying for the scores? Would everything from this era/genre still be under copyright law?

You may try to check on IMSLP (
http://imslp.org), however the probability that you can find "well know pieces" is pretty small: works published after 1923 are still copyrighted in the US, unless they failed to display a proper copyright notice, or copyright was not renewed after 28 years from publication (quite unlikely for popular works - they were certainly profitable enough to justify the renewal).
