In the 1950's I sang in the choir at Whyteleafe County Grammar school for girls in Surrey, UK.
There was a song that I would love to get the music and full words for to give to the choir I am in in Port Lincoln, south Australia.
the first verse goes:
Turn your footsteps to the hills when a high wind's blowing
And your jaded spirity fills, and your jaded spirit fills
to the measure of your going
and the glory of it all breaks the barriers of constraint
and you match your loudest call
to the ....wind's complaint
Windswept, breathless on you go
Making hills and valley ring........
Can't remember any more
Does anyone know this?

Nice text!
I'm pretty sure you are looking for Maurice Blower's "Turn your footsteps to the hills" - which was published by J. Curwen and Sons Ltd. You may find it at this site as well as at Amazon.com.uk and other sites.

Thanks so much for that information. It's taken me all this time - about 50 years to chase it up, how wonderful the internet can be. Now to see if I can get it sent over here.
Happy singing
