Does anyone know where I can find free sheet music for the above French carol? Either SAB or SATB.

Here is an edition of Quelle est cette odeur agréable?, an SATB arrangement from RoDeby Music (Rod Mather) with both French text and an English translation Where is that goodly fragrance flowing? (by Mather) underlaying the music, which is the tradtional setting adapted from The Beggar's Opera by John Gay. Is this what you were looking for?

It is also available in the A.B. Ramsay translation (Whence Is that goodly fragrance flowing) in Carols for Choirs 2: Fifty Carols for Christmas and Advent with music arranged by David Willcocks, also available separately (vocal score X209) from Oxford University Press. A Willcocks edition for SA voices with French text underlay is also available here (Scorch viewer required, but then you can print the music from the viewer).

I hope these sources will be of help to you.

Chuck - Thank you so much. I am quite overwhelmed by the generous sharing of information on this site. Our small group of singers is, for a variety of reasons, unable to purchase much music, so the availability of free sheet music is such a boon to us.
