I have been getting a "Runtime Error" message each time I try to print a pdf file. This prohibits me from printing. Does anyone know how to fix or get around this?

Most likely this is a problem with the plugin helper application used by your webbrowser. Check whether this occurs only on CPDL or on any other website hosting a PDF.

As a workaround, you can rightclick on the link to the PDF file and download it to your hard drive. The you can open and print it with a separate application like "Preview", "xpdf", or "Acrobat Reader".

Many thanks, the "workaround" is perfect. Meanwhile I'll try to find out what's wrong with Explorer.
