GABC files

Post by Richard Mix »

At Musica sacra there is talk http://musicasacra.com/forum/comments.p ... e=1#Item_3 of transcribing large quantities of chant and making the code available for editing. This program is very tricky to install but pdf's can be made from text files via a web interface. Would the code still go onto a File: page? I imagine it would be easiest to upload using ctrl-V. ~~~~

As I understand it, GABC code, just like ABC code is simply text. This much the same as TeX or LaTeX code being simply text. It all depends upon what the processing program does with the text that makes it interesting.

LilyPond source files are also text-only, but with a specific file extension. I think it would be fine to upload GABC files in the same manner.
