Haydn's Theresienmesse performed in Hudson, WI

Postby CHGiffen » 16 Mar 2007 13:59

Just a note that this Sunday, March 18, I will be singing in a concert by the Phipps Oratorio Society and Orchestra of Hudson, Wisconsin which will feature a performance of Franz Joseph Haydn's Massin B-flat (1799), also known as the Thereseinmesse (Theresa Mass). Also on the concert will be the Mozart Horn Concerto in D and the Beethoven Violin Concerto in D. It is a truly joyous work of the mature Haydn, with occasional retrospective hints of Handel's style of oratorio composition.
