Boston Tenor and Bass Section Leader Church Choir Jobs

Post by pateceramics »

The Congregational Church of Needham, MA is currently seeking paid tenor and bass section leaders for Sunday morning services and Thursday night rehearsals with our adult Chancel Choir. We are looking for regular section leaders/soloists, as well as singers to add to our sub list who are interested in more occasional work.

Section leaders should have strong sight reading skills, a good blending choral tone, be willing to practice music outside of rehearsal as necessary, and be ready to provide friendly support to our amateur choir members. Excellent attendance and a car are a must! The church is not accessible by public transportation on Thursday evenings and Sundays.

Music is a broad mix of styles from Biebl and Gjeilo to Faure and Bach to accessible contemporary composers like Bob Chilcott. The church also has a bell choir, children's choirs, a "once in a while" choir for singers who can't commit to a full singing schedule, and programs an annual Christmas concert and occasional special events like last week's New Orleans style jazz band. There are opportunities to sing solos, duets, etc. periodically as assigned.

The Congregational Church is an LGBTQ+ welcoming church. The choir welcomes singers of all faiths or no faith at all. $100 per Sunday service (9:00 to 11:15), $65 per Thursday rehearsal (7:15 to 8:30 or 9:00).

For more information or to schedule an audition, please contact Director of Music, Valerie Becker directly at valerieb894@gmail.com
