Listing two unrelated pieces w/same title on same page

Post by tbweed »

I have composed two hymntunes for metrical texts of Psalm 1, one by Isaac Watts, the other by Christopher L. Webber. Both are titled "Psalm 1." However, I cannot seem to be able to list them both on my page (Thurlow Weed). When I first uploaded the Webber setting, everything went fine until I went to paste in the Works data, and saw that "Psalm 1" was in blue rather than in red. In investigating the matter I also discovered that the incorrect pdf and mp3 files had been associated with the older (Watts) setting.

I messaged Church Giffen about it, and somehow now the earlier Watts setting (uploaded in 2013) has been corrected with regards to the music files. However, Psalm 1 under the Chris Webber section is displaying the Issac Watts piece.

Somehow everything is getting mixed up because of the same title for two separate and unrelated pieces. How do I get the info and files for CPDL#29428 to show up ONLY under "Shape Notes and Psalter" and CPDL#42618 to show up ONLY under "Christopher L. Webber hymns"? Can this be done without changing the title which shows up in the main CPDL listings as "Psalm 1 (Thurlow Weed)"?

Help!!

Hi Thurlow,

In order to obtain the results you desire, the works must be in two different pages, under different titles. It looks like Claude has already corrected everything by creating a second page titled Psalm 1 (b) (Thurlow Weed). Is that new title fine with you?

Thanks, Carlos. I think that will work. There will be others like this, since I have two modern Psalters that I'm working with. I'll just letter them in the same manner.

I've scoured my page, but cannot locate the Psalm 1 (b) listed anywhere, logged in or not. Could you or Claude take the Psalm 1 (b) CPDL#42618 and stick it under the "Christopher L. Webber" listing where Psalm 1 is currently sitting (replace 29428 with 42618 in that slot)? I think I could figure out how to do that, but it would be stretching my wikicoding skills, and with my luck I'd muck it all up.

Thanks,
Thurlow

The link was corrected, you can see the changes here.

Instead of letters, you may prefer to differentiate your Psalms by lyricist name: Psaml 1 (Watts) and Psalm 1 (Webber), for instance.

Carlos's suggestion to use the authors' names is a better solution.
