What would it take to make submissions as easy as:
1) Click a prominent button that says, “Add a Score”
2) Type a composer’s name into an auto-complete text field.
3) Type the name of the piece into another auto-complete text field.
(Link(s) to the pieces in the auto-complete for easy comparison?)
3a) Fill in optional information about the piece - date of composition, text (optionally, choose from drop-down), etc.
4) File selector as usual.
5) Click “Upload”.
Done!
How easy can we make submissions?
Re: How easy can we make submissions?
Did you read the help page for the automated add score process? This is even easier than you proposed, because the composer name and the work name (if you add an edition to an already existing work) are filled in automatically. Furthermore, music genre, era, and other information are filled in automatically if available already for that specific composer or that specific work.
We tried to use an approach that is similar to the older non-automated approach (for reasons of backwards compatibility), and at the same time similar to the approach used by IMSLP (i.e., add works and editions starting from the relevant composer page or work page) as some contributors may be already familiar to it.
