Restriction to type of content?

Post by hanno »

Hi,

I wanted to ask a maybe stupid question: How strictly is CPDL limited to "choral" music?
Or in other words: Would you also welcome contributions that maybe don't fit that strict into your kind of music.

The background of my question: I'd like to improve the availability of some german (old, public domain) child songs for free online download and don't want to start a new project but would just like to integrate them into an exisitng free project. Is cpdl the right place for that?

As I replied in another topic, this is the right place for choral music, but any vocal music (e.g., solo songs) is accepted. Probably most child songs are one-part choral only, as poliphony and other more complex choral forms may be too difficult for children, and this seems OK for me. IMSLP (http://imslp.org) may be an alternative for non-vocal music instead.
