Re: Forbidden access?

Thanks Max!
I tried to open a "ticket" but it asked for an email/password. Where do I register these? Or is it one of the cpdl.org emails? Thanks

Re: Forbidden access?

Hostgator has curtailed the access to the main wiki folder again, I don't know the reason. Since Max was already talking with them, it might be good to wait for his feedback.

In the meantime, users will be directed to a new customized 403 page with links to the backup server and to these forums.

How to present the Genre information

Chuck started an interesting discussion here about whether genre info should be changed according to what is presented in the page. Currently, for instance, "Morning Canticles" are shown on the works page always in the plural, because they usually come in pairs (but not always as I've noti...

Re: A bit of a crash

Dave, I didn't receive any emails with such titles lately. You'll probably have to re-submit your data.

UPDATE: Dave, I found your entry in the database, please use numbers 18920 and 18921. Thanks!

Re: A bit of a crash

Ok Dave, better luck tomorrow!

I use Firefox and usually when I'm in the middle of an edit and there's an energy shortage, I just have to restart my computer and open Firefox again for it to return to the exact point where I was editing! (works in 90% of the times :D )

Re: Am I too loud?

In my choral life I've heard this advice quite often, coming from different conductors; in general I agree with them and try to stick to these rules too. But I believe these are specially important for the beginner singer, who usually thinks that "louder is always better". :) More experien...

Re: French copyright question

Hi chanter ensemble, the answer to your question depends on the work in question, as Max suggests. The most problematic cases are for 20th century composers: if they published something in the U.S. before 1923, it will be in the Public Domain there, but possibly not yet in Europe (depending on the c...

Re: CPDL Copyright notice

Hi there! In many older editions this is the disclaimer used. As CPDL license hasn't changed, I'm pretty sure the notice below is still valid and you have just to update the year: Copyright @ 2000 by the Choral Public Domain Library (http://www.cpdl.org) Edition may be freely distributed, duplicated...

Re: Dowloading Music

Will, if you click on the "Choralia" banner to the left of every page, you'll be redirected to their site, where audio tracks (mp3) of music scores are prepared "on demand" for free, to be used as a training aid for choir rehersals. Individual audio files for each voice may be ma...

Re: Handel's Dettingen Te Deum - Twin Cities area

Chuck, I never imagined this Te Deum would have been written in English first and then translated to German, but after reading what you wrote, it makes all sense now. Probably we sang it in German just because the sponsor was a German language school... :D

Re: Handel's Dettingen Te Deum - Twin Cities area

Whoever is able to attend to this concert should definitely go, this Te Deum is magnificent! I sang it in 1989 with a then traditional local choir called Coral Feliz (now extinct) and it was one of the best musical experiences I've had. I have a nice recording of it sang in German. A couple of days ...

People who use Firefox may want to install the Download Embedded extension, it makes things much easier in sites as di Marco's.

Re: Desperate Chorus Teacher

Hi! I suggest you start looking here:

ChoralWiki:Music_Subcategories

Go through the categories that interest you most; the Piano accompaniment category, for example, has 740 works listed!
Good luck!

Oh, using the same icon for both the wiki and the forums was a bit confusing, wasn't it? Specially when I had both pages opened in different tabs of my browser :)
