Re: O Fortuna (Carmina Burana)
Hi Grant, It's Max here (the one who answered your email about login problems - I'm happy they are solved). Carl Orff died in 1982, so his works are still copyrighted. Orff's scores cannot be published at CPDL, so you should look for commercial scores. If I correctly remember, Orff himself wrote a v...

Re: Possibility of uploading music xml files
You can upload MusicXML files, but please zip them because MusicXML is a very verbose format.

Re: Crecquillon - Pater peccavi
You can check the "upload log" under "Special pages" and then "logs": this work was uploaded on June 25, so it's probably still in the pipeline for being processed.

Re: Search for Marenzio's "occhi lucenti e belli"
It seems that manuscript copies are available at the library of the Conservatory of Rome "Santa Cecilia". Reproductions can be requested, but it is necessary to specify the reasons of the request. Reproduction costs are to be paid (I have no idea of the amount). I live in Rome, so I may in...

Re: Private messaging
A notification email is sent every time a new PM is received. I've just sent a PM to Dave, just to test this function.
On April 24 I increased the maximum number of PMs that can be managed within each user's mailbox, but I don't see any reasons why this may impair other functions.

Re: freeware musicnotation programm
We are now a little bit deviating from the original direction of this thread. Anyway, Christopher, please remember the original CPDL goals set by Raf Ornes, available at http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Help:What%27s_it_all_about%3F#What_is_CPDL.3F . Maybe the use of "Public Domain" in t...

Re: Tracking a new score
I haven't been able to locate your score through the upload log. You can search it yourself, go to http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Special:Log , and select the upload log from the pulldown menu. Can you find it? If not, I guess something went wrong during the upload process, so you should upload ...

Re: freeware musicnotation programm
CPDL also hosts "Pay per Play" music like http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Ave_Maria_%28Cristian_Gentilini%29 You probably refer to the SIAE statement on the score. It does not necessarily imply "Pay per Play" because: a) SIAE has no rights on sheet music; b) SIAE has no right...

This is reported as public domain on the score itself: http://library.timelesstruths.org/library/music/A/All_the_Way_My_Savior_Leads_Me/All_the_Way_My_Savior_Leads_Me.pdf This is another one, without information on copyright: http://www.familyradio.com/graphical/literature/hymnal/contents/070.pdf Max

Re: Midis frei verfügbar?
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_law_of_Switzerland the "death + 70 years" rules applies to Switzerland. Therefore, I think there is no doubt that this work is in the public domain now in your country (Schubert died in 1828, and the lyricist, Walter Scott, died in 1832)....

Re: Midis frei verfügbar?
Hi Barbara, There is no general answer to your question, because different works at CPDL may have different copyright status. Also, the country where your website servers are located can make a difference. Could you please be more specific? Max (google translation) Es gibt keine allgemeine Antwort a...

Re: ChoralWiki outage
Thanks, Carlos. The third-party monitoring system reported less than 30 minutes of downtime, so it was not a major outage, but I was I was a little bit worried because everything at the hosting provider was out of service. I was even unable to access their support system. For everybody's information...

ChoralWiki outage
It seems that the provider of the main CPDL ChoralWiki website is out of service at the moment. The problem seems not only limited to the CPDL wiki, but also to website of the hosting provider itself. We hope that it's just a temporary issue, anyway this BB and the back-up ChoralWiki website at http...
