Re: Modern vs Contemporary

Reviving this thread, almost one year later. Sorry for the delay! :) I prefer the definite chronological statement of "Early 20th Century", but do agree that the time period currently labelled "modern" could beneficially be divided. Maybe "Mid 20th Century" for the seco...

Re: Pending account request

Hi David,

Sorry for the nuisance, we had to temporarily (?) implement this restrictive measure in order to block a bunch of spammers. Your username is already active, you may log into CPDL now.

Kind regards,

Re: Public Domain in Canada...?

Hello Lady Islay, CPDL follows the USA copyright law, because that's where our servers are located. Canada follows the death year + 50 rule for someone's works to enter the public domain, but the USA law is more restrictive, waiting for 70 years after the author's death (if I'm not mistaken). Howeve...

Re: Clarification in Croce's Cantate Domino

Hello

In my opinion all B should be natural in these (identical) sequences. The editor of this edition most probably just forgot to add the natural sign to the last B.

I've listened to three recordings on Youtube and also checked the score at IMSLP and they all confirm the above.

Hi Susan

Both works were removed as requested. Please inform us when you decide to submit the revised versions, so that we may restore the pages prior to that.

Re: classical music mashup

Amazing work! :D Someone had the time and patience to list all melodies as they appear: 1. Mozart - Eine Kleine Nachtmusik K525 0:01 2. Haydn - Symphony 94 "Surprise" II 0:01 3. Beethoven - Symphony 9 IV (Ode to Joy) 0:06 4. Mendelssohn - Wedding March in Midsummer Night's Dream, second th...

Re: Add new work to Psalm page

Hi Maggie 1. Most text pages have a manual list and an automated one. Simply by adding {{LinkText|Psalm 95}} to your composition page caused it to be included in the automated list at Psalm 95. 2. We indeed recommend adding labels to help identify each file. The way I did (text in parentheses, after...

Re: Adding files to existing work page

Hi David, In fact, there isn't a standard layout for instrumentation. Here are a few examples I've picked: http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Cantata_BWV_12_-_Weinen,_Klagen,_Sorgen,_Zagen_(Johann_Sebastian_Bach) (each instrumental score was submitted as a different edition) http://www.cpdl.org/wiki...

Re: Hello!

Hello Clay, welcome to CPDL! It would be nice to have some of your vocal works on our site. All it takes is to create a composer page for yourself and start submitting your works from there, using the "Add new work" tab located at the top of the page. If you have any doubt just let us know...

Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score

Hi. Could you please upload your corrections as a single file? I have merged Paco Marmol and Manolo Casaus edition into a single file, too, because there was no strong reason to keep it separated into 5 PDFs. Thank you!

Re: Submitting minor rev of someone else's score

In my opinion, if you have made just obvious corrections (wrong notes, lengths, typos in text etc.) then we should replace their files with yours and add a note at the "Edition notes" section in the line: "revised on Dec 2015 by dada_lope, such and such things corrected." On the ...

Hello David,

Thanks for posting the corrected text. My knowledge of Latin grammar is too basic for me to be of any help here, but I was curious to see the suggestions you'd receive.

Re: Duplicate page to delete or redirect

Hello Christopher! Thank you for providing a new edition of this work by Talley. At CPDL we follow the rule that if the title of a work is taken from its incipit, it is capitalized as normal text. For this reason, the page kept was "Behold that star". The info added by you to the other pag...
