Elephant in the room
Quite a lot of work has been done already on integrating a recent contribution: Hark! The herald angels sing (Charles Wesley, Jr) CPDL #63219 I am loth to start correcting further, since I am uncertain that I would cover all the redirects needed. The elephant in the room is that the piece is not by ...

Too much glee ascribed to Callcott.
I'm afraid that I have added a separate work sheet for a work that is already on CPDL: Oh! Sovereign of the living soul #63039, pre-existing as Oh! sovereign of the willing soul #16932. The latter is the correct title (but consider whether sovereign in the title should be capitalized. I should be gr...

Re: Dating of subsequent editions.
I have managed to date the missing editions, without identifying their contents. Work page updated with these dates, also with correction to external links, two of which had got transposed (in location, not pitch)

Dating of subsequent editions.
I have added items to the publication page for Croce''s 8 part motets, book 1 https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Motetti_a_otto_voci,_libro_primo_(Giovanni_Croce) The page rehearses the details of the first edition, 1594. I haven't found the details of the 2nd and 3rd printings but the 4th printing...

Re: choral song about the Zoom experience
Excellent encapsulation of choirs' experiences during lockdown.
I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRzAkF-FI5o : not much choral content, not many [different] chords, but a testament to such experiences as the loo-roll shortage (hopefully now behind us).

Re: Template for new music publications
I think that a column for season/liturgical use may prove useful to some (not me personally) In passim I should like to mention a glitch that I have encountered, which does not seem to have been commented on to date. When the Voices (forces) column has a choice of multiple voicings, it ignores them ...

I know the article of which you speak, but when I went back to quote it here I couldn't find it in the catalogue.

Unsavoury characters nobble publication pages.
I'm not sure whether the ae/oe ligature is to blame, or the &. I attempted to use these today, together, in the creation of a publication page. The page was initially accepted, but subsequently proved impossible to link to. The problem was resolved (i.e. linkability restored) when both character...

Re: Cuckoos in the nest
1. I agree about the Pasquini com positions. I have created a composer page for him, which has enabled me to move the piece to the correct attribution. Links now work. 2. The reverse link does not work on the publication page http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Sacro_Sanctae_Dei_laudes_(Giovanni_Matt...

Cuckoos in the nest
I am having trouble effecting works links on two pages: the feature that they have in common is a composer other than the main contributor to the work viz. Works page for Sacrae cantiones (Raffaella Alleotti) where item 18 is by Ercole Pasquini, and works page for Sacro Sanctae Dei laudes (Giovanni ...

Re: Nicholas Temperley
He was a taste-leader in so many areas - psalmody, British Romantic music, the Loder family - and was great editor for Musica Britannica with his long-time colleague Geoffrey Bush, who predeceased him some years ago.

Re: A tale of two lous
Thanks for your help. I have changed references in lists of contents of Promptuarium Musicum (4 vols) anf Florilegium Portense (2 vols) in the hope that the confusion can now fall on sleep.

A tale of two lous
Ludovico Balbi and Alvise Balbi composer pages contain warnings that the two should not be confused. This is partly because biographical details are similar (uncle and nephew, similar dates, working in the same district) but most particularly because their names are actually identical. Ludovico is t...

Re: Errors and anomalies after update
I'm no sure whether the update is necessarily the culprit, but I have noticed a glitch occurring when posting pieces (3) by Michael Praetorius. Michael Praetorius compositions page updates, and amendments can be made from that link (or from any other page within the system). Pieces have still not ap...
