That Lonesome Road is a good song for graduation. The one by Deen E. Entsminger is short and has the tenor on melody most of the time, so that may or may not be a problem. SATB, fairly easy.

Two Pieces by the Same Composer???

I have a slight problem: For our competition coming up, we have decided to go with two pieces by z. randall stroope. There are three pieces all together, with the third being a Pachabel piece in German. The thing is, the two stroope pieces are so completely different, that if you didn't know it, you...

ACDA Conference in Fairfax, VA

ALL ACDA MEMBERS: there is an acda conference on August 10-12 (or whatever that weekend is-thur-sat) at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. The reason I bring this particular conference up is because it is one of the few conferences that hardly any goes to. They have threatened this year, if mor...

hello! well, i was in a commmunity children's choir, and one thing our conductor did for ear training was this: he gave us the chord, then the solfege symbols, at random, and we had to find the note and intervals between each one with no help from the piano or anything else. It helped me with my per...

i dont know if you are familar with any of Eric Whitacre's works, but the choir who sings his music on his CD are AMAZING. They are the Brigham Young University Singers.....they are my personal favorite....
By the way, i love carmina burana! (especially the 'en taberna' section) :)
