Re: How to present the Genre information
2 . I do have a question, though, about genres (the first parameter of the Genre template). I need to remove the mistakes in assigning this parameter, but after that, there are seven remaining values that have been used for this field: 1. Sacred; 2. Secular; 3. Dual; 4. Both; 5. Other; 6. Unknown; ...

Re: wrong voicing
I did the same thing as BarryJ, for SSSATB, and got the same 21 results. Then I added "Renaissance music" to the mix (along with SSSATB) and got over 1500 results!!! This rather flies in the face of MULTIcategory search. It looks like the tool is doing a logical OR instead of an AND opera...

Re: Request pages
I would propose to create a new main section of these forums, devoted to score requests. We may probably split the existing "Music Requests and Questions" section into two sections, with a section devoted to score requests only. A "sticky" post, which remains on top of the dedic...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles
So das , die , and der can be either an article adjective or a pronoun. As in Das hat er Alles uns getan , a stanza from a chorale by Martin Luther, BWV 91-6. Also known as Dies hat … Difficult to automate, it appears. Ouch! I wasn't aware of that... but I guess that such homographs also occur in o...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles
Indeed, Chuck! The same for {{SORTIERUNG:Kleine Nachtmusik #Eine}} I found this Help page that lists the sorting rules in effect on the German Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilfe:Kategorien#Die_Sortierung_soll_vom_eigentlichen_Lemma_abweichen Note the 7th rule: 7. Regel: Artikel Lemmata, ...

Re: Template for new music publications
There is now a template for use in creating new publication pages, Template:NewPublication . Comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome. That's great, thanks Barry! Just note that the other similar templates ( "New composer", "New editor", "New lyricist", &quo...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles
Thanks for raising this subject, Richard. It was probably me who included the German articles into the sorting template, but I admit not being very knowledgeable in German conventions regarding this. The German articles currently removed by WorkSorter are: { das die der den dem ein eine } Should we ...

Re: How do I put a link on my own composer page?
Hi Eva, When the voicing of your arrangement is different from the original, as was the case with An die Musik, please use the template {{vcat}} instead of {{Voicing}}. They are functionally identical, the only difference being the extra text displayed by Voicing. Here you can see how Vcat was appli...

Hi Eva! Just noticed that the title was still misspelt, so I renamed it for you.

Re: Keyboard for note input on Sibelius
Hi Carlos, I'm also looking for a MIDI keyboard. Would you recommend getting a used older model or a new one? From what I gathered, older models seem to be superior. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry, Kurtis! I'm afraid I won't be able to help you with recommendations (besides, by now you have ...

Re: Keyboard for note input on Sibelius
Hi Rob What you need is a MIDI keyboard , i.e., a keyboard with a MIDI interface. Older keyboards used a MIDI cable, that has been replaced with USB cables or even Bluetooth on recent models. All major music typeset softwares are compatible with the MIDI standard. I use an old Yahama PSR220 that has...
