Re: Unable to add text translation to existing work

Jared, it seems that you did not confirm your email address. Please login to the wiki, click on the "Preferences" label on the top-right side of the page, and check that you are a member of the group "emailconfirmed". If you aren't (as I expect), the same page provides a function...

Re: Error after "add work" form

Please try again, and check that the URL in your browser remains www.cpdl.org (contributor website, reserved for logged-in users) and it does not switch to www0.cpdl.org , www1.cpdl.org , www2.cpdl.org , www3.cpdl.org (visitor websites, read-only, where anonymous users are randomly re-directed). If ...

Re: How to list works by composer with voiceing/instruments?

Maybe everything gets more clear starting with an example based on a basic DPL query. Please open a composer page for editing, and add the following wiki code whenever you like in that page: {{#dpl:category={{PAGENAME}} compositions |include={Voicing},{Instruments} }} Then click on "Preview&quo...

Re: Music reader equivalent? /scanning sheet music

All optical music recognition programs known to me (SharpEye, Photoscore, ScanScore, Omer, PdfToMusic, ...) run under Windows and/or Mac OS. No Linux/Ubuntu. I guess you should try to use Wine.

Re: How to list works by composer with voiceing/instruments?

Yes, this is possible, and the best solution depends on some factors: - if you intend to obtain a listing that is displayed online for a specific composer, you may use DPL queries within a dedicated page; - if you intend to do the listing for several composers, you may create a template that automat...

Re: Updates to submission process?

As to the weird page where I left my query, could a brief explanation or a note telling people to ignore it be added? I've added the explanation I provided in my previous post, with minor modifications. Please feel free to improve it. Since these are so often the same person it seems odd to have th...

Re: Updates to submission process?

Since the forum bulletin boards don't show up on my CPDL watchlist A specific setting exists here on the forums to get notified via email whenever a reply is submitted to a topic of interest for you (i.e., where you posted a message, or that you selected as "subscribed"). I've (hopefully)...

Re: problem transferring your user data ...

The mechanism that prevents session hijacking on the MediaWiki software has false positives from time to time, which may be related to specific browser behaviour concerning security, especially when switching from a http connection to a https connection or vice versa. Please clear cookies, and try t...

Re: Updates to submission process?

the main page should be simplified as a whole because it needs "forever" to load (probably the longer the bigger the CLDP gets). This not clear to me. Are you referring to the add work form, or to the main page of the CPDL website? The time to render the main page was never mentioned in t...

Re: Updates to submission process?

I uploaded pdf and mxl files with the "Upload now" buttons and initially entered nothing in the upload tab. This led to the known error: the score file name/URL "" appears not to be a valid score file name/URL. The error reported is consistent with a lack of communication betwee...

Re: Updates to submission process?

This confirms that, for some reasons, the upload form does not communicate with the add work form. It is possible that your specific browser settings interfere with the communication mechanism. Some time ago I struggled with Firefox under Linux due to some strange behavio(u)r, which did not occur at...

Re: Updates to submission process?

That's strange. The data of a certain file (e.g., file size and number of a pages in the case of a pdf file) are communicated by the upload form to the add work form through a XML file and AJAX. In the repository of XML files there is no one file associated to your username, so for some reasons the ...

Re: Updates to submission process?

The automated add score process was introduced in October 2013. It was announced using the main announcement banner, still available on archive.org (click to enlarge): archived_announcement.gif The above announcement was permanently shown for about one year, until October 2014. However, at that time...
