Re: problem transferring your user data ...

No luck with your suggestions. Since 9.1.2019 I was able to work undisturbed, but today I am locked out again: problem transferring your user data ... I restarted Firefox and deleted all cookies and web page data. Then I tried your first link without success. Afterwards restarted and deleted all coo...

problem transferring your user data ...

What is the reason if you can not log in and get the error message: There was a problem transferring your user data, so this action has been canceled for safety's sake to prevent you from misallocating your changes to another user. Please resubmit this form. See attatched hardcopy. "resubmit&qu...

Re: Updates to submission process?

The time to render the main page was never mentioned in this topic Richard Mix wrote: "I wonder if we could have a News link on the main page" and my brain immediately associated, aha, this slow page that takes "forever" to load. I quoted "forever", so hopefully it was...

Re: Updates to submission process?

Let us return to the original issue of Richard Mix and your answer. I do not mind new links, but the main page should be simplified as a whole because it needs "forever" to load (probably the longer the bigger the CLDP gets). editor details aren't yet filled in for logged-in users / This i...

Re: Updates to submission process?

For my next test, I used a Windows environment: Win 10, Version 1803, Google Chrome Version 71.0.3578.98 I uploaded pdf and mxl files with the "Upload now" buttons and initially entered nothing in the upload tab. This led to the known error: the score file name/URL "" appears not...

Re: Updates to submission process?

I clicked the "Upload now" button and got the new tab https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Special:Upload?cw_file=score My user name was shown. I updloaded the file and entered nothing in my upload tab. Then I got an error, that i did not enter a URL for a media file. So i used again: right...

Re: Updates to submission process?

I'm sorry, but I seem to be a particularly slow-witted person. I used the "Upload now" buttons every time (there are no others). Last time it worked like this: 1. I clicked on the first/top "Upload now" button and uploaded the pdf file in the new tab. Then I manually took over th...

Re: Updates to submission process?

I confess that I am annoyed every time that I have to type in my e-mail address at all as a registered user, even though it is stored in the user data. the file size and number of pages are now filled in when uploading! Could somebody describe in the help pages what I have to do to make this work? I...

Re: Search two words

Are you happy that it works so well for logged in users?
I belong to the less happy rest of the world. I never sign up unless I really want to change something, so I can not accidentally do any harm.

Re: Search two words

First, I repeated the test on www1.cpdl.org. Result: unchanged. Then I logged in as desired. 1. Search for: Alma Redemptoris Mater (Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina) 1.1 Search: "Alma Redemptoris" ; Result: There were more results, I had to click on "next 20" twice before I found...

Search two words

According to MediaWiki Help, the following applies when searching for 2 words: a) If Word1 and Word2 are specified, all pages are to be found that contain all (that is, both) words. b) When searching for "Word1 Word2", all pages containing this string should be found. I have tried this in ...

Composers Category [

If you search category Composer for Wenzel Heinrich Veit alias Václav Veit, you will not find anything under the letter V. Instead, Veit appears under [ (at the very end).

Why is that and what can you do about it?

Re: Is it possible to accidentally overwrite files of others?

Thank you for the help and the detailed answers. I confess that I had no idea about an "ignore all warnings" option and did not notice any warning when uploading. Still, I find it surprising that I can replace others' files. I know: on a wiki users control each other. This is no problem wi...

Is it possible to accidentally overwrite files of others?

Yesterday I called the page Frisch gesungen (Friedrich Silcher) and tried to view the PDF file of the edition of Juliane Claudi, CPDL #19903. Instead I got to see the PDF file of CPDL #48364. A check of the source code shows that the file names are very similar, though not quite the same: [*]{{CPDLn...

Re: PDF previews on composition page

Yes, the previews look great, you could even say fantastic. After looking at the source code, I am rather disillusioned and fear a maintenance problem. What should a usual CPDL-updloader do if a error is found and therefore a new version has to be uploaded? I would not know how to update the preview...
